TWMA AWARDS £600K ABERDEEN HQ REFURBISHMENT TO LOCAL FIRM - 17,250 SQUARE FOOT AVAILABLE FOR LEASE

Environmental waste management specialists Total Waste Management Alliance (TWMA) has awarded a £600k contract to local company Accommodation Services Management (ASM) for full refurbishment of its Broadfold House head office in Broadfold Road, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.

The extensive refurbishment programme of Broadfold House, which is the former Vetco Gray building, will be carried out over the next four months.

The contract is for work on the entire 29,117 sq ft building and will see external and internal redecoration including new carpets, wall coverings, ceilings and lighting plus refurbishment of the elevator and windows.

Douglas Garrick, director, TWMA said: “We are delighted to announce the award of the refurbishment contract to ASM who will complete the work by December 2010. We have been planning this refurbishment programme since moving into the premises in 2008 and we are excited to be pressing ahead with it now. It is not only a fantastic investment into the building but also into our growing team of staff and the future of the company in Aberdeen.

“As we currently occupy about 12,000 sq ft of the building we have appointed International Property Consultant, Knight Frank as sole letting agent to market the remaining 17,250sq ft of space, which will be available for let to one or several companies. It is an extremely spacious building in a great location and with over 200 private parking spaces.”

Other major occupiers in the area include BIS Salamis, Yardbury Engineering and Homebase.

Katherine Monro, partner, Knight Frank said: “We are delighted to be appointed by TWMA to market their surplus space. The refurbishment is already underway and it will make an attractive proposition for businesses looking for flexible open plan office accommodation with generous car parking at a competitive rent from £12 per sq ft.”

TWMA was formed in 2000 and employs around 300 people at its HQ in Aberdeen and bases around the world including Egypt, Nigeria, Norway, Dubai, USA and Libya. As well as being the industry leader for handling drill cuttings offshore and onshore, TWMA offers a full environmental service including waste treating, handling and recycling on and offshore.
