RICS LAUNCHES NEW CPD SERIES

RICS Scotland (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) has today announced details of its lunchtime CPD events for chartered surveyors. The events are designed to develop the professional knowledge of surveyors working in the built environment in the current economic climate.

John Edwards, Chairman, RICS Scotland commented:

“Many chartered surveyors work in the construction and commercial property sectors which have been badly affected by the recession. For this reason it is all the more important that we protect ourselves by expanding our knowledge and skills. The CPD series offers a great opportunity to do this. The low cost, high value events cover a wide variety of topics relevant to all those working in the built environment in Scotland. The events are designed to assist chartered surveyors with their professional development objectives.”

Covering a wide range of topics and with contributions from speakers who are experts within their field, the Lunchtime CPD Series provides an opportunity for surveyors to keep up-to-date with the key issues and recent developments affecting the profession. The events will cover a number of topics including climate change, dilapidations and funding for development during a recession.

The first in the series takes place tomorrow (1 September 2010) in Edinburgh’s Gallery of Modern Art and will provide information on the development of lime mortar repair material.

The events will be held weekly in Glasgow and Edinburgh and the majority of presentations will be delivered in both locations. The presentations will begin at 1.00pm, with tea/coffee and registration taking place from 12.30pm, and they typically consist of a 40-45 minute presentation, followed by a short question and answer session.

Each of the events is priced at £26.00 plus VAT per person and places can be booked by visiting www.rics.org/lunchtime1011
